Share my location

Create a link to the spot where you are and send it on WhatsApp or any other app. Want people to follow you as you move? The steps for live location are below.

Your location now

Tap the button to see where you are

Your browser will ask for permission to use your location.

The map of your location will appear here.

Tap any point on the map to see its address, postal code, coordinates and elevation.

Your location is calculated on your device and is not stored on our servers. How we handle your data

How to send your location with this page

  1. Tap “Show my exact location” and accept the location prompt.
  2. Check on the map that the blue dot is where you are.
  3. Tap “Send on WhatsApp” to open a ready-made message with your address and a link, or “Copy link” to paste it anywhere else.
  4. The other person opens the link, sees your position on the map and can choose “Get directions in Google Maps” or “Drive there with Waze”.

The link carries your coordinates at the end of the address, after the # sign. That part is not sent to our server when the link is opened, so we never receive or store the shared point.

How to share your live location

On WhatsApp

  1. Open the chat with the person or group.
  2. Tap the paperclip (Android) or the + sign (iPhone), then “Location”.
  3. Choose “Share live location”, pick how long (15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours) and send.

On Google Maps

  1. Open the app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Open “Location sharing” and tap “Share location”.
  3. Choose how long and who with, or copy a link to send it another way.

Live location keeps updating only while your phone has signal and the app is allowed to use your location, so a dead battery or airplane mode stops it.

Share your location safely

  • Only send it to people you trust, and don't post it in large groups or on social media.
  • With live location, choose the shortest duration that makes sense and stop sharing when you arrive.
  • Check the “Accuracy” value before sending: if it is over 50 meters, add a landmark such as the name of the nearest shop.
  • In an emergency, also read out your address or coordinates on the phone.

Questions about sharing your location

How do I send my current location?

Tap “Show my exact location”, allow location access and then choose “Send on WhatsApp” or “Copy link”. Whoever receives the link sees your position on a map and can start directions.

How do I share my live location on WhatsApp?

In the chat, tap the paperclip (Android) or + (iPhone), then Location, then Share live location. Pick 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours and send. You can stop sharing at any time from the same chat.

Can the other person see where I move?

Not with a link from this page. It contains a fixed point: the place where you were when you created it. If you move on, send a new link. To be followed continuously, use live location in WhatsApp or Google Maps.

Who can open the link?

Anyone who has it. No account or app is needed. Only send it to people you would also give your address to.

How long does the link work?

It doesn't expire, because the coordinates are in the link itself and are not stored on any server. For the same reason we can't deactivate it: don't forward it if you don't want it to spread.

Can I share my location without WhatsApp?

Yes. Copy the link and paste it into an SMS, an email, Telegram or any other app. On a phone, “Share” opens the system menu with all your apps.

How do I share the location of another place?

Type the address into “Or look up another place” or tap the point on the map. Then use “Send on WhatsApp” or “Copy link”: the link leads to that place, not to your position.

Can I see someone else's live location?

Only if they share it with you, for example through WhatsApp or Google Maps. This page never shows another person's position; it only shows yours, after you allow it, or a point that someone chose to send you.
